With a BA in Languages and Literature (Portuguese and English), a post-graduate course in Computer Systems Analysis, and an MBA in Information Technology Management, Luciana started working as a technical translator in 1984, employed at an American software manufacturing company established in Rio de Janeiro, where she took part in the localization of ERP mainframe software packages. Three years later, she became a freelance translator rendering services to this firm and translating books on programming languages to a publishing company. After captivating other four or five customers, as she was not able to do the whole work all by herself, she decided to form a team and found Follow-Up, in 1989. Little by little, their customer base increased and so did the collaborators’ team. In 1992, Luciana and her team started working with international customers – in software localization projects.

Today, Luciana’s role at Follow-Up is more related to general management, finance administration, and sales & marketing. Partners since 1998, Luciana, Ana Beatriz and Adriana are also good, old friends. “The human side of the business is what captures me, and I’m actually a relationship-oriented entrepreneur”, declares Luciana, who is really happy with the business and its new location.
